By the end of this course you will:
- Have a workable, useful definition for what conflict is, and how to identify it when it is happening (even when the signs might be subtle). You'll also be able to draw a distinction "conflict", "a conduct issues", and "a fight" -- these things are related, but they are not the same and need to be handled accordingly!
- Understand the basics of the primary approaches to managing conflict -- restorative justice, developmental, and traditional/punitive approaches each have their place. The method you will learn in this course will teach you how to move from one to the other as appropriate for the situation.
- Identify how you use power in conflict and how important this awareness is in facilitating resolutions.
- Practice your newly acquired skills by using real-world case studies that are reviewed by the course creator, so you’ll get real, human feedback on your work!

He grew up in the traditional territory of the Anishinabe people in Northern Ontario, and to this day most at home in a tent under the trees of Canada’s Boreal forest. Each of these places and peoples shaped who he is, and he is deeply committed to Truth and Reconciliation.
